The Emory cross country teams made the trip north to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. In a very competitive field, the women's team finished second out of 46 teams while the men finished seventh out of 41 teams. Every Eagle on both the men's and women's side finished in the top half of all runners. Headlining the day for Emory was graduate student
Brigid Hanley, who finished sixth overall on the women's side in a field of 406 runners.

The women competed at the 6k distance, with Hanley leading the charge. The graduate student dazzled, crossing the checkered tape with a time of 21:11.5 and just four seconds shy of her personal-best time at the distance. Hanley's time was good for a sixth-place finish to lead the Eagles to the second-place finish. Senior
Liesl Scherrer was close behind Hanley, finishing 12
th with a time of 21:25.5. The time set a new personal-best for Scherrer, besting her previous time of 21:36.8.

Sophomore
Elizabeth Csikai posted a strong performance, coming in 37
th with a time of 22:13.2. Her classmate
Madison Tiaffay was right on her heels, as she finished 45
th with a time of 22:17.9 – just missing a personal best by three tenths of a second. Rounding out the scoring for the women's side was freshman
Rowan Miller, finishing in 52
nd with a time of 22:25.0.

Joining those five in finishing in the top-100 of the talented field was freshman
Davis Johnson with a time of 22:32.6 in 62
nd place and junior
Luna McCauley with a time of 22:37.5 in 70
th place. Freshman
Ashlyn Pallotta came in 169
th with a time of 23:37.3.

On the men's side, it was senior
Tristan Olpin in front as he finished 30
th out of 347 runners with a time of 25:17.1 at the 8k. This set a new personal-best for the senior, topping his previous time by nearly 15 seconds. Freshman
Ryan Van De Berghe was impressive at the meet, clocking in at 25:29.0 in 52
nd place. Rounding out the top-three finishers for Emory was senior
Scott Masterson, crossing the finish line at 25:32.9 in 55
th place.

Spencer Watry who finished in 62
nd place with a time of 25:43.2 and sophomore
Kirin Karver, finishing in 64
th with a time of 25:43. Sophomore was the sixth Eagle to finish inside of the top-100, recording a time of 25:51.1 in 80
th place.

Dalton Lowery who finished in 129
th with a time of 26:24.5 and junior
Lucas Moskovitz who finished 144
th with a time of 26:31.9.

After a strong showing this past weekend, the Eagles will have a couple of weeks off before they're back on the course. They'll return on Saturday, October 19
th with some competing in the Upstate Invitational and others heading to New Jersey for the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle.
