Both Emory cross country teams placed fifth at the UAA Conference Championships on Saturday in Edwardsville, IL.
John Urciuoli led the Eagles with his top 15 finish to earn All-UAA Second Team honors.
On the men's side, Urciuoli led the team with his time of 25:13.9 to end up in 13
th overall. Close behind was sophomore
Ryan Van de Berghe, clocking in at 25:21 to land in 16
th place. Behind him was fellow junior
Kirin Karver who finished in 37
th place with his time of 25:55. Only four seconds later freshman
Amos Pres crossed the finish line, coming in 39
th at 25:59. Behind him was senior
Nikhil Makker, finishing at 26:14 and coming in 47
th. Up next was the sophomore/freshman duo of
Dalton Lowery and
Logan Clark who both crossed the finish line just under the 26:30 mark to land in 52
nd and 53
rd respectively. Behind them was freshman
Michael Versaci who came in 56
th after finishing at 26:33. Close behind Versaci was sophomore
Carsen Valenta who finished at 26:41 to come in 58
th. Rounding things out for the Eagles was freshman
Owen Larson, who finished in 66
th place after clocking in at 27:07.
On the women's side, senior
Madison Tiaffay led the squad, clocking in at 22:09.3 to come in 15th place. Sophomore
Davis Johnson came in next for the Eagles, crossing the finish at 22:27.4 to end in 23rd place. Following close behind was junior
Elizabeth Csikai, coming in at 22:32.8 to finish in 25th overall. Fellow junior
Payton Fleming came in about nine seconds later, finishing with a time of 22:36.1 to land in 28th place. Behind her was the trio of
Cameron Gupta,
Ayla Cooke and
Ashley Clyman who all finished after the 22-minute mark to come in 38th, 39th and 40th respectively. Behind them was freshman
Lucy Ambrogio who clocked in at 23:25.6 to take 58th place. Behind her was junior
Morgan Cox who came in 66th overall with her time of 23:39.2. Junior
Elise Picard closed things out for the Eagles, crossing the finish line with a time of 24:04.6 to land in 71st.Â

The Eagles will be back on the course on November 15 for the NCAA South Region Championships in Salem, VA.Â
