No. 6 Men's Soccer Heads to Hampden-Sydney for Opening Rounds of NCAA Tournament

The Eagles will face Maryville in their first round matchup.

For the third consecutive season, the No. 6 ranked Emory men's soccer team is heading to the NCAA tournament after a dominant 13-1-3 record on the season. The NCAA released the 2025 bracket Monday morning, sending the Eagles to Hampden-Sydney, VA for the regional round.

Emory will take on a familiar foe as they face Maryville (TN) to begin their postseason run. The Eagles took down Maryville in a neutral site contest at the Berry Fall Classic back in September, defeating the Scots 7-1 in the early season matchup. The first-round battle against the Scots is set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15.

The Scots finished their postseason in a heated battle against Covenant in the CCS Conference Tournament Championship, where they claimed victory over Covenant in penalty kicks to secure the conference championship and their spot in the NCAA tournament, improving them to 9-3-6 overall on the season and 4-1-1 in conference play.

MSOC NCAA BRACKET FIRST ROUND

Maryville had an incredible offensive season, putting up six shutout wins on the year. Many of the squad's powerful performances were led by Brady Hammer who has been a crucial offensive piece for the Scots. The sophomore forward put up 44 shots and 10 goals on the season and was named the Collegiate Conference of the South's Offensive Player of the Year.
The Scots are also home to the CCS Rookie of the Year in freshman Ben Brophy. The Knoxville, TN freshman forward put up 30 shots and nine goals to conclude his first season in the Scots uniform.

Joining the Eagles and the Scots in Virginia will be host team No. 23 Hampden-Sydney and 2025 OAC Champions Otterbein. The two squads will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15. The second-round match is set for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16.

This is the 20th postseason appearance in program history for Emory men's soccer and the fifth under the leadership of Cory Greiner. This is only the second time in program history that the Eagles have made three consecutive NCAA tournament berths, with the last time being the 1996-1998 seasons.
