Emory University graduate student
Ignacio Cubeddu has been named to the All-America Third Team by the United Soccer Coaches Association as announced Thursday afternoon in conjunction with the final rounds of the NCAA Championships in Salem, Virginia.
Cubeddu becomes the first All-American for Emory men's soccer since Jason McCartney in 2017 and is the 16th individual in program history to earn the honor. This is Cubeddu's first career All-America selection after previously being an All-Region honoree three times.
In his debut season with the Eagles, Cubeddu has been an offensive weapon with team-leading totals of 12 goals and 30 points, while leading all UAA players in points scored and setting a team record in shot attempts. He was previously honored as a United Soccer Coaches All-Region and All-UAA First Team selection this season as well as the United Soccer Coaches Division III National Player of the Month in September.
The Eagles with Cubeddu at the helm will make their national semifinal debut on Friday, December 5th at 6:30 PM, taking on Trinity University (TX) at Kerr Stadium at Roanoke College.
