Track and Field Sends Student-Athletes to Last Chance Qualifiers

The Emory University track and field program sent split squads to the MIT Final Qualifier and the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on Thursday afternoon.

Senior Lily Taylor and junior Madison Tiaffay traveled to Rock Island, Illinois to compete at the Augustana Qualifier and competed in the 800m Invite.

Taylor took home an eighth place finish at the event with a time of 2:11.96, the 24th best time this season in Division III. Tiaffay followed with a 26th place finish running a 2:13.06.

Traveling to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the MIT Qualifier was sophomore Henry Brandstadter who competed in the long jump. He took home the gold in the event with a distance of 7.35m, the 11th best time in the division this season.

The Eagles will turn their attention to the NCAA Outdoor Championships which will begin on Thursday, May 23 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
