The Emory track and field team began competition at home Thursday, with freshman
Megan Taylor competing in the heptathlon to kick off the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet.
Taylor is currently fourth overall in a field of 17 athletes from across Division I, III and the NAIA. The freshman put up 2,182 points through the first four events to land in the top 5.
In the 100m hurdles, the freshman came in fifth with a 15.48 second performance, following that with a fourth place showing in the high jump with her 1.57m mark.
She followed that with a sixth-place finish in the shot put as she threw for 9.34m. Closing things out in the 200m, Taylor had a fantastic showing as she landed in second with a time of 25.45 seconds.
Taylor will compete in the final three events tomorrow morning, starting with the long jump at 11:00 a.m.
