Track and Field Finishes NCAA Indoor Championships with Final Events

The Emory University indoor track and field program finished the final day of the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon with the Eagles seeing competition in two events.

Junior Caroline Hansen and graduate student Brigid Hanley both competed on Saturday in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After the Eagles' performance on both days, the women finished 24th out of 63 teams receiving points. The Emory men finished 10th out of 63 scored teams, good for the highest-ever indoor NCAA team finish in program history.

Hansen opened the day for the Eagles competing in the triple jump finishing with a mark of 11.16m taking 20th in the event.

Later in the afternoon, Hanley hit the track to compete in the 3000m run. She finished just outside of All-America status taking ninth in the event with a time of 9:41.64.

The Eagles will open the outdoor season with the annual Emory Spring Break Classic on Friday, March 15 at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
