Women's Tennis Trio Named to CSC Academic All-America First Team; Kantrovitz Selected as Division III Team Member of the Year

The Emory University women's tennis senior trio of Emily Kantrovitz, Izzy Antanavicius and Iris Berman highlighted the selections of the Division III Academic All-America teams for women's tennis that were announced Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization via press release.

Emory University led the way with the three CSC Academic All-America selections within Division III women's tennis with all three Eagles earning a spot on the eight-person First Team. In addition to the First Team selections, Kantrovitz was selected as the Division III Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for Division III – an honor that signifies the top individual who excels in both academics and athletics. With the three selections, it brings Emory's department total to six through the 2025-26 academic calendar as well as 252 in the history of the University.

Kantrovitz becomes just the eighth Emory Eagle to ever be selected as the Division III Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for their respective sport, joining Andrea Pawliczek (2001, Women's Soccer), Tom Shane (2002, At-Large/Men's Swimming), Kyle Foster (2003, Baseball), Megan Light (2014, Softball), Andrew Wilson (2015 & 2017, At-Large/Men's Swimming), Taylor Leone (2023, Women's Swimming) and Nikki Boon (2025, Women's Cross Country/Track & Field) in the elite company.

After earning CSC Academic All-America First Team recognition as a junior, Kantrovitz closes out her stellar career with back-to-back nods on the First Team. She finished with 87 career singles victories – tied for fifth-most all-time in Emory history – and was recently tabbed as the ITA Atlantic South Regional Senior Player of the Year and an All-University Athletic Association First Team selection following a UAA MVP campaign as a junior. Over her career, Kantrovitz led the Eagles to a pair of national semifinal berths as well as additional appearances in the quarterfinals and regional finals. She was a two-time ITA South Region singles champion as well as a doubles championship this past fall with Berman and reached the semifinals of the ITA Cup. Kantrovitz made four appearances in the NCAA Individual Championships including a semifinal run as a junior.

For Berman, this marks her second straight CSC Academic All-America recognition and first on the First Team after landing Second Team honors as a junior. As a senior, Berman went 11-10 in singles and was part of Emory's top doubles team as she and Kantrovitz went 19-10 as a pair and qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships following their strong fall on the ITA circuit.

Antanavicius makes her debut on the CSC Academic All-America team as she capped off an outstanding Emory career. During her senior season, Antanavicius led the team with 24 singles victories, going 24-7, and advanced to the Round of 16 in the singles tournament of the NCAA Championships. Additionally, Antanavicius captured her first career ITA South Regional singles title, defeating Kantrovitz in the championship match, and reached the national quarterfinals of the NCAA doubles tournament alongside Yanire Marte to earn All-America status. Antanavicius notched 24 doubles wins this season to lead the team including a 16-4 mark with Marte.

The senior trio three of four Eagles to earn CSC Academic All-District honors earlier this spring, alongside Marte, with select student-athletes proceeding to be placed on the All-America ballot for voting. CSC Academic All-America Teams are nominated and voted on by College Sport Communicators and Sports Information Directors across all Division III institutions.

The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a key member of their respective teams and maintain at least a 3.50 grade point average or higher.
