The #2 Emory men's golf team improved by one shot overall on day two of the Jekyll Island Collegiate, bringing their team score to 581 (+5) at the conclusion of the second round.
Pearse Lucas shot up seven spots on the individual leaderboard to lead the Eagles, matching his first-round score of 71 (-1) to combine for 142 (-2). The grad transfer shot four birdies and three bogeys to finish the day in 30
th place.
Kevin Mu sits one shot behind Lucas, putting the junior in 39
th with a 143 (-1) at the end of two days of competition. He shot a consistent round with three birdies a bogey and a double bogey to shoot a 72 (E) in round two.
Behind Mu is senior
Brian Hanson who ended the day in 77
th place with a 73 (+1) in his second round. The fourth year started strong with two birdies on the front nine, but lost that rhythm on the back nine with three bogeys, two birdies and a double bogey to bring his two-day total to 147 (+3).
Next up is
Brady Lagendyk who shot four birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in the second round to end the day in 89
th place. The junior improved by one shot from day one as he posts a 149 (+5) after two rounds.
Wrapping up day two for the Eagles is
Zach Pelzar, who ended the day with a 78 (+6). The junior carded nine bogeys and three birdies in his second round to bring his total to 165 (+21) on the tournament.
At the Indian Mounds individual tournament,
Dru Devata sits in sixth place with a 149 (+5) after two days of competition. The rookie shot five bogeys and three birdies to shoot a 74 (+2) in his second round.
Sophomore
Tim Richter is three shots behind Devata going into the final day, making par on every hole in his second round apart from a pair of bogeys on the front nine.
The Eagles will conclude play at the Jekyll Island Collegiate and Indian Mounds Individual tomorrow as they play their third and final round.
