The No. 3 ranked Emory University women's tennis team wrapped up an unbeaten weekend in Tennessee on Sunday as the Eagles blanked No. 26 Sewanee, 7-0, in Sewanee.
The Eagles stayed perfect so far this spring with another dominating performance in one final tune up prior to next week's ITA National Indoor Championships in Nashville.
Emory set the tone Sunday morning with a doubles sweep to start the scoring. Senior Izzy Antanavicius and junior Yanire Marte picked up a 6-3 win on court two while sophomore Rachel Hernandez and freshman Holyn Karp turned in a 6-4 decision on court three. Senior combo Emily Kantrovitz and Iris Berman rounded out the doubles sweep with their 6-2 result on the top court.
In singles, the Eagles did not drop a set across all six courts to complete their third 7-0 triumph of the spring.
Antanavicius and Hernandez highlighted Emory with 6-0, 6-0 whitewashing on court No. 2 and No. 5 while both Marte and Karp registered 6-1, 6-1 lines on courts three and four. Kantrovitz added a win at the No. 1 spot, 6-0, 6-4, and freshman Audrey Pogue posted a 6-1, 6-3 win at sixth singles to finish off the sweep.
The Eagles will now gear up for an ITA National Indoor Championship run as Emory is set to face No. 5 CMS in the opening round Friday evening at the Farm & Forge Club.
