Two Emory University student-athletes were chosen as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of January 12-18.
Senior Ben Pearce led the No. 3 ranked men's basketball team to a 2-0 road weekend against Brandeis and NYU. Pearce averaged 22.0 points across the two wins while adding 12 assists, seven rebounds, two steals as he shot 15-for-30 from the floor including a 6-for-11 mark from beyond the arc.
For track & field, sophomore Ryan Van de Berghe was the highest placing track athlete for the Eagles at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday. Van de Berghe established a new PR in the mile as he placed fifth overall with a time of 4:17.30. His time moved him to 24th nationally in Division III so far this season.Â
