Eagles Stand Sixth in Learfield Directors' Cup Race Following Fall Season

Following the conclusion of the fall season for the 2025-26 athletic calendar, the Emory University Eagles currently standing sixth in the Learfield Directors' Cup race.

On the strength of five programs securing points for the Eagles, Emory ends the semester with 311 points - one of seven Division III schools to reach 300 points during the fall. The Eagles are one of five University Athletic Association institutions inside the top 17 overall and one of two UAA programs inside the top six.

Tufts University leads all DIII programs with 485 points followed by Johns Hopkins (454.5), WashU (358.5), Williams (343.5) and Trinity (TX) (334). The Eagles are coming off their first-ever Directors' Cup win in 2024-25 after scoring a school-record 1,147 points.

This past fall saw Emory boast successful seasons across the board, highlighted by Final Four runs from both soccer programs. Women's Soccer notched a leading 90 points with its national championship game appearance followed by men's soccer and its 83 points after the team's first-ever trip to the national semifinals. Women's Cross Country netted 56 points for the Eagles after placing 18th at nationals while volleyball scored 50 points after advancing to the second round. Men's Cross Country rounded out the fall scoring with 32 points as two runners from the program represented the Eagles at the national championship meet.

The Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today with points being awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.  Overall, 18 sports are counted in the final DIII standings, four of which must be men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball. The next highest (14 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings. Learfield has been the title sponsor for the award since 2008.

The final edition of the Directors' Cup fall standings are set to be released on January 22nd with the winter standings to be released at the end of March.
