Emory Men's Golf concluded day one of play at the NCAA Fall Preview tournament Sunday afternoon, ending the day in second place out of 24 teams with 282 (-2) on the day.

Junior
Kevin Mu sits at the top of the leaderboard for the Eagles, shooting a 68 at the conclusion of a really consistent round for the third year. He shot two birdies on the front nine and two on the back with a standalone bogey on 16. This puts him in a four-way tie for fifth place at the end of day one and only one stroke off the lead.
Close behind Mu was fellow junior
Brady Lagendyk and grad transfer
Pearse Lucas, who both shot 70 (-1) on the day and sit in 12
th place. Lagendyk had a rocky front nine, shooting three bogeys with his only birdie coming on the first hole, but he found his footing on the back nine with three birdies to end the round strong. Lucas had a steady front nine, shooting only one bogey and birdie through hole nine, but found himself shooting two bogeys and two birdies on the back nine to close out his opening round.
Following them was senior
Brian Hanson who shot 74 (+3) on the day after a turbulent first round. Hanson opened with a double bogey on the first hole but eventually settled into his rhythm, shooting two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine. On the back nine, Hanson shot two bogeys and a birdie, putting himself in 50
th place heading into round two.
Rounding things out for the Eagles is sophomore
Zach Pelzar who shot 77 (+6) to conclude his first round. Like Hanson, he opened his round with a double bogey but quickly found his footing, shooting par on the rest of the front nine apart from a birdie on the fifth hole. He had a similar experience on the back nine, starting with another double bogey and shooting par on the rest of the holes except for a pair of bogeys on 12 and 17.
The Eagles will be back on the course tomorrow for the second round of the tournament with play concluding on Monday.
