Three from Women’s Golf Selected as CSC Academic All-Americans

Three Eagles were chosen for the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Sophomore Carys Code earned a spot on the All-America First Team while seniors Sharon Mun and Ellen Dong were chosen for Third Team honors. The selections mark the first career honors for each student-athlete. The trio marks the 13th All-America selection for Emory this year and brings the Eagles' all-time total to 240. All three Eagles also earned a spot on the WGCA All-Scholar team earlier this summer.
 
The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a key member of their respective teams, maintain at least a 3.50 grade point average and be of sophomore standing or higher.
 
Along with the team championship, Code became the second Eagle in program history to win the individual national title with her NCAA record breaking performance. She competed in 25 rounds of competition this year and highlighted her season with a 285 (-3) four-round score at the NCAA Championships. In each event Code competed in, she finished in the top-50 including four top-20 finishes.
 
Dong had one of the best seasons of her career finishing second on the team with a 74.7 round average though 21 rounds this year. Her best event came at the Deb Jackson Invitational where she shot a 144 (+2) to finish first in the competition. Earlier in the year at the Jekyll Island Collegiate tournament, she shot a 68 in the final round, tying the best round score in program history.
 

Mun competed in 22 rounds of competition this season and averaged a 75.1 round score through her nine completed events. Her best finish came at the Jekyll Island Collegiate tournament where she shot a 217 (+1) through three rounds including par through the first two rounds. She has also finished in the top 50 individually in each event she has competed in.
