The Emory University men's golf team saw five of its members honored Tuesday afternoon with their selections as Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) via press release.
To be eligible, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
A total of 202 Division III student-athletes from 78 schools earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. Emory was one of four DIII institutions with five or more selections during the 2024-25 school year with Michael Burry, Brian Hanson, Tony Li, Kevin Mu and Josh Qian earning the honors.
The All-America Scholars recognition concludes a busy postseason for the men's golf program as three Eagles earned PING All-America honors (Mu, Hanson, Burry) while Burry garnered national acclaim with his Third Team selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America list.
