Three student-athletes from the Emory University men's golf program were named to the PING Division III All-America teams as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
With his third place finish at the NCAA Championships earlier this spring, sophomore
Kevin Mu secured his All-America First Team recognition following the conclusion of the tournament. Joining him with All-America honors is junior
Brian Hanson earning Second Team recognition and senior
Michael Burry who was chosen to the Honorable Mention Team.
Mu competed in just one event during the fall before entering the spring season with a vengeance. He shot a 71.9 round average during the season with his best two events coming at the Discover Dekalb Emory Invitational and the NCAA Championships shooting six under at both events. During the spring season, Mu finished in the top-50 individually in each event he competed in.
Hanson also had a dominating season competing in nine events across the fall and spring. He also finished in the top-50 individually in each event this season and had his best finish at the NCAA Division III Preview in September where he shot a three round score of 202 (-14). Hanson finished the NCAA Championships in a tie for 40
th with a four-round total of 300 helping the Eagles to a third place finish at the event.
Burry finished his final season with the Eagles with All-America Honorable Mention honors following a tie for 49
th at the NCAA Championships with a four round score of 302. He shot an average round score of 73.2 with his best finish coming at the NCAA Division III Preview shooting nine under.
