The Emory University track and field program saw 17 student-athletes selected to compete at the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Championships May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio.
Nine athletes were chosen on the women's side to compete including five individuals. For the men's events, eight Eagles were chosen to represent the Blue and Gold.
Leading the way for the women is graduate student
Eva Carchidi who was chosen for four events, two individual. She will compete in the 200m and 400m dash as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Joining her in the 200m dash and both relays is freshman
Jada Kenner competing in her first national outdoor competition. Joining them in the relays are teammates
Dashiel Tao Harris (4x100m, 4x400m),
Audrey Johnson (4x100m),
Hannah Riley (4x400m) and
Amaya Grant (4x100m, 4x400m). Rounding out the running events for the women is junior
Madison Tiaffay in the 1500m run.
In field events, graduate student
Nikki Boon will look to capitalize on her historic indoor season as she will compete in the heptathlon and the long jump. Joining her in field events is senior
Sarah Fineman who qualified for the shot put following her distance at the MIT Final Qualifier.
Teammates
Jackson Price and
Henry Brandstadter both qualified for two events, a relay and individual, with both being chosen for the 4x100m relay. Price will compete in the 200m dash while Brandstadter will join Boon in the long jump. Joining the two in the 4x100m relay will be teammates
Caleb Bunch, Joshua Han and
Sam Ryba.
