The No. 5 ranked Emory men's tennis team continued its postseason on Saturday afternoon, playing in the UAA Tournament semifinals. After topping WashU in the opening round on Friday, the Eagles were pitted against the second-seeded Case Western Reserve Spartans, who are also ranked as the sixth-overall team in the nation. While the Eagles were able to seize a couple of singles matches, they were ultimately on the wrong side of a 4-2 final score. The match was played on a neutral site in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
The Spartans jumped ahead early, taking a pair of wins in doubles to earn the match's opening point. Junior

Charley Force were the first to fall, dropping their match on court three, 1-6. Sophomore
Christian Liew and freshman
Ruilin Feng fell shortly after, losing their match on court one, 3-6. Freshman
Ajay Kartik and graduate student
Efe Comu joined forces on court two, but their match was abandoned after the Spartans secured the point.
The Spartans quickly extended their lead to 2-0, with Kamenev falling in straight sets on court one, 1-6 and 2-6.
Feng got a point right back for the Eagles, though, completing a swift, straight-set win on court two. Feng's final line came to 6-2, 6-1, marking the 14
th win of his rookie year. The Spartans fought back for another point, though, with Force dropping his match on court five, 4-6 and 2-6.
Kartik kept the Eagles' championship hopes alive, earning a win in the No. 6 position. The freshman earned his ninth win of his rookie year, with a final score of 6-2 and 6-4.
Yet, the Spartans were able to pull out a final point on court three to wrap up the win. Comu dropped his match in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 0-6. The remaining matches were abandoned following the Spartans' match-clinching point.
The loss will see Emory play in the third-place match tomorrow against NYU. The final round of the UAA Championships will start tomorrow at 8:30 AM.
