At the end of two nights in Greensboro, North Carolina, the Emory University men's swimming & diving team remains in the fifth position in the team standings of the 2025 NCAA Championships.
Thursday's slate of action saw the Eagles record a pair of the seventh place finishes to go along with four Second Team All-American efforts.
At the midway point, Emory boasts 116.5 points and will be looking to keep pace with Denison University (166), Kenyon (126), Chicago (124) and NYU (121.5) over the final two days of competition in the tightly contested men's field.
After setting a new personal best with a consolation win in the 50 Freestyle on night one, senior Dylan Yin headlined the Eagles on Thursday. Yin opened the evening's docket for Emory with a podium finish in the 100 Fly. Yin threw down a 47.53 in the morning to reach the A Final and touched at 47.65 in the evening to take the seventh position.
Yin was back in the pool for the night's final event as he teamed with seniors Johnny Bradshaw, Nolan Lahmann and junior Caden Bjornstad. The group turned in the eighth-best mark in the prelims and improved upon that seeding with a seventh place showing in the finals with a time of 1:20.14.
Senior Jeff Echols was the first of four All-America second teamers for the Eagles on Thursday as he was 12th in the 100 Fly with a time of 48.18.
In the 200 Freestyle, Emory touted the trio of sophomores Hayden Tupper, McKee Thorsen and senior Alexander Pollack in the consolation final. Tupper was the leading Eagle with Emory's third consolation win of the meet, registering a time of 1:37.92, and saw Thorsen tie for 10th at 1:38.07. Pollack rounded out the trio in the 15th position with his time of 1:38.66.
The NCAA Championships continues Friday with a schedule including the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Fly, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, men's 1-meter diving and the 800 Freestyle Relay.
