The Emory University women's golf program took home a sixth place finish at the Columbia Classic on Sunday afternoon. The 54-hole tournament was played on the Duran Golf Course in Melbourne, Florida.
The Eagles shot their best round on Sunday afternoon with a team score of 294 (+6) to finish the tournament with a team score of 902 (+38) competing against Division I competition. Illinois State remained in the top spot after the third round posting a team score of 868 (+4) and a tournament-best -2 in the third round.
Freshman
Zimo Li once again led the way for the Eagles shooting her best round of the tournament on Sunday with a score of 71 (-1). She shot three birdies on the front nine and one on the back to finish in a tie for fifth individually with a score of 216 (E).
Senior
Sharon Mun finished next for the Eagles also shooting her best round of the tournament in the third round. She totaled 10 pars in the third round and three birdies to finish with a score of 227 (+11) ranking individually in a tie for 24
th.
Sophomore
Carys Code also had 10 pars on the course on Sunday but shot a -1 on the front nine due to an eagle on the ninth hole this morning. She shot a 73 (+1) in the round and finished the tournament in a tie for 31
st with a score of 228 (+12).
Senior
Ellen Dong was the final team scorer for the Eagles on Sunday matching her round one score with a 77 (+5). She finished the tournament in a tie of 51
st with teammate
Esther Jung both shooting a 234 (+18). Jung shot a 78 (+6) on Sunday with 13 pars in the round.
On the individual side, freshman
Covi Yan had another impressive tournament matching her second round score with a 73 (+1) on Sunday. She had three birdies in the round and finished in a tie for 12
th with a score of 222 (+6). Sophomore
Derica Chiu finished things up for the Eagles finishing in a tie for 59
th with a 239 (+23) line with a birdie and 10 pars in the third round.
The Eagles will take a break until traveling to Peoria, Arizona to compete in the Westbrook Invitational beginning on Saturday, March 8.
