Emory University divers took their talents to Cambridge, Massachusetts this weekend as they competed across two days at the MIT Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
For the Eagles in the women's events, senior Ren Watt was one of the standouts as she led the team across both days. In the 3-meter, Watt took first in the field of 21 divers with a score of 456.30 and was second in the 1-meter at 414.50.
Graduate student Ariana Khan turned in a pair of third place efforts as she scored 411.50 in the 1-meter and 448.30 in the 3-meter. Sophomores Maya Kriz and Maddi Grant added top-10 showings in both disciplines with Kriz taking fifth in the 1-meter (403.15) and fourth in the 3-meter (442.55) while Grant was eighth in both events with scores of 380.65 (1-meter) and 392.05 (3-meter).
Sophomore Solly Berkenwald was a top performer for the Eagles in the men's events as he took first place in the 3-meter with a dominating performance, scoring 514.90 and was the lone diver in the field of 11 to reach a score over 500. In the 1-meter, freshman Thomas Stone was Emory's top performer as he took seventh at 409.65 while classmate Gavin Zivitz was 10th at 359.85.
The Eagles will turn attention to finals and the holidays over the next few weeks before returning to the pool on January 24th in the team's senior day meet against Centre College.
