Men's Golf concluded play at the Wabash Fall Invitational Tuesday afternoon, claiming their third team victory of the season with an 834 (-30) total across the three rounds.
Junior Kevin Mu also took first place in the individual standings and all five Eagles landed in the top fifteen.
Leading the pack for the Eagles once again was
Kevin Mu, who shot 70 on the day to claim his first individual win of the season. He started things off on the front nine with a bogey on the first hole but picked up the pace to card a birdie followed by an eagle on the ninth hole. On the back nine, Mu carded three bogeys but made up for it by carding a birdie and an eagle on the 13
th hole to conclude the final round of the tournament.
Close behind was senior
Brian Hanson, who secured second place with his 207 total across all three rounds. Hanson had a great start with a birdie on the first hole but found himself carding two bogeys back-to-back on holes three and four. Hanson rallied the rest of the round, coming back to card only one bogey and four birdies on the back nine to secure his second-place spot.
Following him was
Pearse Lucas, who found himself in sixth place after shooting his lowest round as an Eagle with 69. Things started out rough for the grad transfer with a double bogey on the second hole but he bounced back to card two birdies on the front nine. That momentum continued as Lucas carded a bogey and two birdies on the back nine with an eagle on 18 to end the round strong.
Behind Lucas was
Zach Pelzar who shot 215 across his three rounds to sit in 11
th place on the individual standings. The sophomore had a great start on the front nine, making par on each hole aside from carding birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. He had a more turbulent start to the back nine, carding a bogey, birdie and then two back-to-back bogeys on holes 13 and 14. Despite a rocky start on the back half Pelzar ended the round strong, carding a birdie on 18 to end the round.
Closing things out for the Eagles was
Brady Lagendyk, who found himself in 15
th place after shooting 217 across the three rounds. The junior had a consistent final round, making par on every hole on the front nine outside of a double bogey on the third hole. His consistency continued on the back nine as he carded two birdies and made par on the rest to end his round.
The Eagles will be back on the course next week for the Tartan Invitational in Ligonier, PA at Laurel Valley Golf Course.
