The Emory University men's tennis team crowned its 2025 ITA South Regional champions Monday afternoon as play shifted from Memphis to Atlanta for the final matches of the weekend-long tournament.

Monday's slate first got underway with the championship matchup in singles where top-seeded sophomore Ruilin Feng was pitted against second-seeded senior Dean Kamenev.

The match started outdoors where Kamenev jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage in the opening set. However, the skies opened up with a brief rain shower to move the remainder of the day's events inside of the Woodruff PE Center.

Following the move indoors, Feng regrouped and was able to rally for the comeback win in the first set – forcing and taking the tiebreaker 7-4. Feng rode that momentum into a second set win, 6-3, to claim his first individual regional title.

After the completion of the singles championship, sophomore Ajay Kartik and freshman Matthew Johnstone took the court to battle senior John Lasanajak and freshman Daniel Kim in the doubles final.

Johnstone & Kartik, the draw's fourth overall seed, got off to a quick start with an opening set win, 6-2, and never wavered en route to the set and match win with the 6-4 line in the second set.

By virtue of the wins, the Eagles clinch spots in the ITA Cup later this month which will be held at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia from October 16-19.
