Emory Men's Tennis put on a show Saturday afternoon, with sophomore
Ruilin Feng and the doubles duo of
Ajay Kartik and
Matthew Johnstone sweeping each of their respective opponents to advance to Sundays ITA Cup Finals.
In singles, sophomore
Ruilin Feng took down Denison's Kael Shalin Shah in his semifinal match. Feng won in straight sets, taking set one 6-1 and set two 6-2. He will take on defending national champion Advik Mareedu from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the final Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
In doubles, the sophomore/freshman duo of
Ajay Kartik and
Matthew Johnstone took on Sebastian Mendoza and Edward Wang out of Babson College. The duo swept Babson, taking both sets 6-4. They will compete in the ITA Cup doubles final Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
In the singles consolation draw, senior
Dean Kamenev dropped his final match of the weekend to Amherst College's Andreas Sillaste, dropping the first set 7-5, rallying back to take set two 6-2 but dropping the tiebreaking third set 6-3.
In the doubles consolation draw, the senior/freshman duo of
John Lasanajak and
Daniel Kim lost their final match of the tournament against UChicago's Li Heyang and Albert Mackey. The Eagles dropped set one 6-1, came back to take the second set 6-1, but dropped the tiebreak 10-2.
