The Emory swimming and diving teams welcomed the Berry Vikings and SCAD Bees to the Woodruff P.E. Center on Saturday morning for a tri-meet. The Eagles swept the competition on both the men's and women's sides with the men winning 12 events and posting two NCAA B Cuts and the women winning 14 events. The men came in with a dominating 27 points, with SCAD in second with nine while the women put up 28 points, while SCAD scored five. The competition also served as Emory's Senior Day, as the program honored its senior class ahead of the meet.

The men's team was led by a pair of strong performances from sophomore
McKee Thorsen and senior
Jeff Echols, both posting times worthy of NCAA B Cuts. Thorsen's time was just shy of a record as well, finishing first in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:45.84. The time was just tenths of a second off the record of 1:45.43, set by Patrick Augustyn in March of 2012. Echols shined in the 100 Fly, clocking in at 48.40 and touching first. Echols had a strong showing in the 200 Fly as well, coming in second behind Thorsen with a time of 1:50.49.

As a collective, the men also took the top six places in both the 100 Back and 100 Breast. Senior
Adam Braunschweig celebrated his Senior Day with an event win in the 100 Back with a time of 50.34. Junior
Henri Bonnault was the top finisher in the 100 Breast, clocking in at 56.14 and touching first.

Dylan Yin had impressive Senior Day as well, winning two relay events as well as the 50 Free. The senior teamed up with Braunschweig, Bonnault, and Echols in the 200 Medley to come in with a time of 1:29.81 to open the day. He ended the meet in the 400 Relay alongside sophomore
Hayden Tupper, freshman
Colin Zexter, and junior
Caden Bjornstad for a first-place finish with a time of 3:05.29. Yin clocked in at 21.20 to win the 50 Free as an individual. Yin's teammate, Tupper, had a strong day as well recording event wins in the 200 Free (1:41.03) and in the 100 Free (45.52).

Freshman
Ben Pritchard dominated the Freestyle distance races, winning both the 1000 Free and 500 Free. He touched first in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:48.74 before winning the 500 Free with a time of 4:47.20. Senior
Liyang Sun rounded out the event wins for the Eagles, taking first in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:03.44.

Freshman
Solly Berkenwald competed alone on the boards for the men, posting scores of 294.45 in the 3-meter and 298.20 in the 1-meter.

On the women's side, on top of winning 14 events, the Eagles took the top-four places or more in nine events. Graduate student
Penelope Helm experienced a strong day in the pool, winning two individual events and joining in on a 400 Free Relay win. Emory held the top eight finishers in the 200 Free, with Helm leading the way with a time of 1:53.24. She added another win in the 500 Free, touching in 5:08.62. She ended the day teaming up with freshmen
Allison Greeneway, Sophia Joos, and
Stephanie Lee for a first-place finish in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:31.71.

Greeneway kept her rookie campaign rolling on Saturday, winning two individual events and two relays. On top of her win in the 400 Free relay, she partnered with junior
Isabel Huang, sophomore
Katie Cohen, and freshman
Caitlin Crysel for a win in the 200 Medley Relay. The foursome touched with a time of 1:45.23. Her individual wins came in the 100 Breast, clocking in at 1:05.11, as well as the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.88. Her classmate, Crysel, added a win of her own on the day, taking first in the 100 Free with a time of 51.96.

Penny Celtnieks was the first Eagle to touch in the 100 Back, an event where the Eagles saw the top five finishers. Celtnieks led the way, though, with a time of 57.26. Junior
Emily Noll took a win in the 200 Back, with a time of 2:07.84.

Ava Kennedy posted an event win on her Senior Day, touching first in the 50 Free with a time of 23.90.

Elodie Mitchell in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:06.80, Joos in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:22.53, and sophomore
Maren McDonald in the 100 Fly with a time of 57.46.

Ariana Khan won the 3-meter with a score of 313.80.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, February 1
st when they head to Athens, Georgia for a meet against the Georgia Bulldogs. The meet will start at 11:00 AM.
