Track Sends Distance Medley Groups to UWL Eagle Open; Women Break Program Record

The Emory University Track and Field program sent two distance medley groups to La Crosse, Wisconsin to compete with the women's group breaking the program record by five seconds.

The women's group consisted of graduate student Brigid Hanley, senior Lily Taylor, junior Dashiel Tao Harris and junior Madison Tiaffay who took a third place finish in the event with a time of 11:46.55. The group was consistent at fifth place through each split until the final 1000m to secure the finish. The group's time now ranks eighth best in the Division this season.

The men's group of seniors Dawit Dean and Spencer Watry, freshman Graham Greene and junior Marcus Cheema followed with a fourth place finish running a 9:53.85 with Dean running the fastest split during the third 1000m. The time of 9:53.85 ranks fifth best in Division III this season.

The track and field team will be back in action on Saturday, February 17 to compete in the Sewanee Indoor Meet in Sewanee, Tennessee.
