The No. 4 ranked Emory men's golf team concluded play at the Chick-fil-A Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, with the B-Lineup turning in a 303 (+15) to bring their two-round score to a 609 (+33) and finish in 11
th out of 23 teams. Emory sent three additional golfers, who competed as individuals. Averett went on to win the event after shooting a 586 (+10), besting Berry by one stroke. The event was played at Stonebridge Golf Club's Par-72, 6,809-yard course in Rome, Georgia and hosted by Berry College.
Senior
Prayaag Oruganti shot Emory's best round for the B-Lineup on Tuesday, carding a 72 (E). His day got started with a tough double bogey but was solid the rest of the way as he shot two under over the next 17 holes. He finished his second round with three birdies and an eagle. His two round score came to 148 (+4) to finish tied for 12th out of 127 golfers.
Close behind was freshman
Zach Pelzar who duplicated his first round score with another 74 (+2) on Tuesday. He knocked in four birdies but also dropped in six bogeys to remain above par. He finished his two rounds of play with a 148 (+4) and tied for 12th as well.
Sophomore
Dustin Miller was next for the B-Lineup, shooting a 78 (+6) on Tuesday. The sophomore didn't have the start he was looking for, but finished strong after shooting two under par over his final six holes. He finished his tournament with a two-round score of 155 (+11) and tied for 62
nd place
Rounding out the scoring for Emory's B-Lineup was fifth-year
Logan Lowery. Lowery also experienced a frustrating start, shooting nine over par in his first ten holes. Yet, over the final eight Lowery closed strong, shooting two under par. He finished the event with a 158 (+14) and in 80
th place.
Senior
Nicholas Nautiyal shot the Eagles' best round as an individual on Tuesday, shooting a 72 (E). He knocked in five birdies and as many bogeys on the day. Like many of the Eagles, his second half of the round was much stronger, shooting two under par over his final 11 holes. He finished with a 151 (+7) and climbed 52 spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday to place tied for 30
th.
Freshman
Tim Richter improved upon his first round score by six strokes, shooting an impressive 74 (+2) on Tuesday. Richter logged the first eagle of his collegiate career on the course's 14
th hole, a 485-yard Par-5. His two round score comes to 154 (+10) to see him tie for 54
th.
Rounding out the Tuesday scores was senior
Parker Shimp. Shimp shot an 87 (+15) to bring his score to 164 (+20). He went on to finish tied for 107
th.
The Eagles will next head to the Bahamas for the White Sand Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia University. Emory will be the lone NCAA Division III representative as the Eagles compete with some of the nation's best competition. The event will start on Friday, October 25
th and conclude on Sunday, October 27
th.
