The No.-1 ranked Emory University baseball program returned to the win column Sunday afternoon, taking the second game of the weekend series from Millsaps College by a score of 7-6 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Senior Jeff Ronpirin went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases while senior Wilson Morgan was 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBI to lead the Emory offense. Senior Kyle Monk improved to 4-0, pitching the final 4.1 innings in relief.

Trailing 3-2 in the sixth inning, the Eagles sparked a five-run rally to grab a 7-3 lead which they would not relinquish. Junior Nick Chambers tied the game at three, earning a bases loaded walk to push home senior Philip Maldari. After a Majors pitching change, sophomore NJ Kim reached on a fielder's choice as classmate Jackson Grayson scored on the play. Morgan followed with a two-run double to left to plate Chambers and junior Mitch Kerner before Ronpirin singled to left to score Kim.

Monk tossed 1.1 hitless innings before Millsaps touched him up for three runs in the seventh to cut the Emory lead to one. The Cortlandt Manor, NY native settled down across his final two frames, retiring the final seven batters he faced. In his 4.1 innings of work, Monk allowed three runs on four hits while striking out five.

Sophomore Billy Dimlow was saddled with the no decision after giving up three runs (2 ER) on 10 hits and a walk in 4.2 innings pitched. He racked up seven punch outs.

The Eagles will be back in action Wednesday afternoon as they host crosstown rival Oglethorpe University at 2:00 PM from Chappell Park. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was pushed back due to inclement weather in the forecast.
