The Emory men's tennis team saw a five-match win streak come to an end Thursday afternoon as it dropped a contest to Georgia Gwinnett College, the No. 3-ranked program in the NAIA ranks. The Eagles saw their spring record slip to 12-5 following an 8-1 setback to the Grizzlies who boosted their overall mark to 14-0.
The Eagles' lone point of the match came from freshman Josh Goodman (Weston, FL), who in his first appearance of the year manufactured a 2-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory over Nathan de Veer at No. 6 singles.
Emory returns to action on Saturday, Apr. 5, when it returns to Division III action, welcoming the No. 5-ranked Johns Hopkins (7-2) to the Woodruff PE Center for a noon battle.
