The Emory men's golf team made their return to the course Monday, dominating day one of the UAA Championships as they beat Rochester 3.5-2.5 and NYU 4-2.

Match one saw a win from newcomer Luke Frey in his collegiate debut as he beat Anderson Palm in a 1up victory to start the day. Zach Pelzar followed that with a win of his own, finishing with a 3&1 victory as he took the final three holes of the match. While freshmen Jeffrey Rubenstein and Enze Miao fell to Henry Zhong and Gavin Fowles in a pair of 3&2 losses, senior Kevin Mu tied with Tommy Wang in match four. Dru Devata earned the deciding point for the Eagles, beating Haden Wang 5&3 to secure Emory's first win.

In match two against the Violets, Mu delivered a 4&3 win over Bryan Zhao to begin the match. While Frey fell to Ryan Zhao in a 2up loss, Miao secured the second point for the Eagles with a 3&2 victory over Qi Liu to give Emory the lead. Pelzar also secured a win as he won 1up over his NYU opponent, but Devata lost 2up in his matchup. Going into the final match one point ahead of the Violets, Rubenstein secured the insurance win against Bo Dong, winning 4&2.

The Eagles will be back on the course tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. for their final match against Carnegie Mellon as they look to clinch another conference crown.
