The No. 1 ranked Emory men's golf team began play at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial and the Chick-fil-A Invitational Monday afternoon, ending day one in first place at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial at 570 (+2) while the B team finished the first day in Rome, GA at 593 (+17) to land in sixth through 36 holes. 

At the O'Briant Jensen Memorial, the Eagles shot a 296 (+12in round one, but delivered a 274 (-10) in the second round to climb four spots to the top of the team leaderboard. UAA foe Carnegie Mellon joins Emory in the top three nine strokes behind the lead as Washington and Lee sits in third place at 586 (+18). 

In Greensboro, Zach Pelzar is leading the field at the end of round two with a 137 (-5). The senior delivered five birdies and four bogeys to shoot a 70 (-1) in the first round before delivering a hole-in-one on the second hole in round two along with five birdies and three bogeys to card a 67 (-4). 

Two strokes behind Pelzar on the leaderboard is Kevin Mu who sits in a tie for second at 139 (-3). The senior improved by three shots from round one to round two as he delivered a 71 (E) before shooting 68 (-3) in the second round. 

Freshman Enze Miao came in behind Mu, delivering a 145 (+3) through 36 holes to end the day in a tie for 11th. The newcomer had the most drastic improvement on the day, going from 78 (+7) to 67 (-4) in round two. 

Behind him is Brady Lagendyk who carded a 152 (+10) on the day to land in a tie for 37th place. The senior carded a lone birdie on 15, six bogeys and a pair of double bogeys in round one, improving by two shots in the second round to card a 72 (+1). 

Rounding out the leaderboard at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial is freshman Jeffrey Rubenstein who carded 155 (+13) on the day to finish in a tie for 51st place. Rubenstein saw ten bogeys, four double bogeys, four birdies and a lone Eagle through 36 holes. 

At the Chick-fil-A Invitational, freshman Luke Frey is leading the squad with a 146 (+2) after two rounds in Rome. Frey was very consistent on the course, delivering five birdies, five bogeys, a pair of double bogeys and a lone Eagle through both rounds to end day one. 

One shot behind Frey is senior Dustin Miller who delivered a 75 (+3) in the first round, improving by three shots to card a 72 (E) in round two to land in a tie for 20th place. 

Behind Miller is Dru Devata who carded a 149 (+5) through two rounds to land in a tie for 31st. The sophomore carded three birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey in the first round, but improved by three shots as he delivered four birdies, a set of bogeys and a lone double bogey to card a 73 (+1) in the second round. 

Junior Tim Richter is behind Devata in 40th place with a two-round total of 151 (+7). Richter's back nine in round two was his best of the day as he shot a pair of bogeys, a solo birdie on 16 and two Eagles on the 14th and 17th holes to close out round two. 

Rounding out the leaderboard in Rome is freshman Jerry Li who delivered two rounds of 82 (+10) to end the day in 86th place. 

The Eagles will be back on the course tomorrow morning as they play the final rounds of the fall season.
