The Emory softball team capped off another successful season by reaching the NCAA Regional before being eliminated by Belhaven in Jackson, Mississippi.

Led by third-year head coach India Chiles, the Eagles made their second NCAA Tournament appearance since Chiles took over the program. Emory finished the season 28-14 overall and 13-4 in UAA play, placing second in the conference for its best finish since 2019.

Emory opened the season with three matchups in Georgia, defeating Piedmont and LaGrange during the opening weekend before splitting a doubleheader with Berry the following week.

The Eagles then traveled to Columbus, Georgia, for the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic. Emory opened the tournament against No. 8 East Texas Baptist, falling 4-0. The Eagles dropped each of their next four games by one run before closing the tournament with a 6-4 victory over Maryville.

Emory hosted the Eagles Elite Invitational and picked up three wins before opening UAA play. The Eagles began conference action by taking three games at Brandeis before winning the series against Carnegie Mellon. Series victories over Case Western Reserve and Chicago followed before Emory swept a doubleheader against No. 9 Huntingdon.

During the final weekend of April, Emory traveled to the Bronx for a conference series against NYU. In the opening game, freshman Sydney Thune tossed the 18th no-hitter in program history, striking out seven batters in a 13-0 victory. The Eagles won the second game before the series finale was canceled because of weather.

Emory entered the final weekend of the regular season needing a series victory over Washington University to clinch the UAA Championship. After splitting the first two games, the Eagles fell 6-0 in the finale.

Despite falling short of the conference title, Emory earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship and was selected for the Belhaven Regional in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Eagles opened regional play with a 1-0 victory over Georgia foe Berry before falling 9-1 to host Belhaven in the second game. Facing elimination, Emory defeated Westminster 5-3 to advance to the regional final.

Needing two consecutive wins over Belhaven to advance, the Eagles earned a 15-7 victory in the first game to force a winner-take-all contest. Belhaven responded with a 4-0 victory in the second game, ending Emory's 2026 season.

Emory was led by Ashley Chu, who earned CSC Academic All-America honors while also being named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team and the All-UAA First Team. Chu concluded her career as Emory's all-time hits leader after batting .441 with 63 hits and a .487 on-base percentage.

Ella Hoyle was named to the All-UAA First Team after batting .406 in 128 at-bats. She recorded seven doubles, one triple and five home runs while posting a .586 slugging percentage. Hoyle finished her career with four All-UAA First Team selections, totaling 216 hits, 15 home runs and 140 RBIs.

Freshman Sydney Thune put together an impressive debut season, earning All-UAA First Team honors after posting a 10-4 record with a 2.80 ERA in 20 appearances. She struck out 72 batters over 80 innings while also throwing the 18th no-hitter in program history.
