The Emory University men's tennis team is set to send two student-athletes to the NCAA Individual Championships later this month in Chattanooga, Tennessee as announced via press release through the NCAA Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Ruilin Feng will represent the Eagles as the lone representative in the 32-player singles draw and will also take part in the 16-team doubles bracket alongside classmate Ajay Kartik. The singles and doubles individual championships will take place following the team championships from May 23-26 at the Champions Tennis Club.
Feng will make his second consecutive singles appearance at the NCAA Championships this spring after advancing to the Round of 16 as a freshman. This year, Feng is 19-4 in singles play including a 10-0 mark in tournament action as he captured the ITA Cup Division III national championship this past fall.
In doubles, Feng will also make a repeat trip to the doubles tournament albeit with a new partner. The All-UAA First Team tandem in Feng & Kartik have led the Eagles this spring with a 10-4 record and have won four straight matches heading into the NCAA Championships.
Prior to the NCAA Individual Championships, the Eagles will look to make a run in the team portion of the postseason with the NCAA tournament getting underway this weekend in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
