Box Score 1 The #13 Emory softball team played their first two games at the NFCA Leadoff Classic tournament Friday, with the Eagles falling to #8 East Texas Baptist 4-0 and Transylvania 5-4.

Game 1: ETBU 4, Emory 0
After a scoreless first inning, ETBU scored in the bottom of the second on a single and an RBI from a bases-loaded hit by pitch to make it 2-0, with the Eagles unable to respond in the tip of the third despite a single from freshman
Zoe Horning to start the inning.
The Tigers would find their final two runs in the bottom of the third off a pair of bases-loaded walks to bring the score to 4-0.
The remaining innings would go scoreless as the Eagles tried to battle back but couldn't get it done in their first of six games at the Leadoff Classic.

Game 2: Transylvania 5, Emory 4
The Eagles started off hot as they scored three runs with senior
Ella Hoyle driving in a pair and rookie
Allie Stevenson picking up an RBI ground out. The Pioneers also picked up a run in the first to make it 3-1.
Transy gave the Eagles a battle, picking up a pair of runs in the third and another in the sixth to make it 4-3 going into the seventh.
From there, Emory was held off the scoreboard until the top of the seventh where they scratched out their fourth run.
With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Trinity Bridges scored the game-winning run to win it 5-4.

The Eagles will look to bounce back tomorrow as they take on University of Mount Union at 10:00 a.m. and #4 Saint Mary's at 12:30 p.m.
