The No. 5 ranked Emory women's tennis team picked up a dominanting win against SCAD Friday afternoon, blanking the Bees 7-0 during their second match of three on the road this week.
The Eagles secured the doubles point thanks to a 6-1 decision from the senior duo of Iris Berman and Emily Kantrovitz and a 6-2 score from upperclassmen Izzy Antanavicius and Yanire Marte. The sophomore/freshman duo of Rachel Hernandez and Holyn Karp also got a 6-3 win to complete the doubles sweep.
In singles, every Eagle earned a straight set decision as Kantrovitz got the wins started with a 6-3, 6-2 decision in the first position while her doubles partner Berman delivered a 6-3, 6-3 final in the second position. The third spot saw Antanavicius defeat SCAD's Nora Louko 6-1, 6-0 while Marte got the 6-3, 6-2 win in the fourth position. Rounding things out for the Eagles, Karp put up a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 5 while Hernandez got the final win for the Eagles, going 6-1, 6-2 in the sixth position to secure the shutout for the Eagles.
Emory will conclude their spring break trip with a return visit to Hilton Head Island on Saturday with a rematch against No. 4 Wesleyan at 11:30 a.m.
