Emory University sophomore Solly Berkenwald was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week after helping the men's swimming & diving team secure its 27th consecutive conference championship this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois.
Berkenwald won his second straight UAA Men's Diving of the Year award as he claimed the lone event titles for the Eagles across the four days in Chicago to help Emory win the conference championship meet by 126.5 points. Berkenwald swept the diving events as he scored 589.20 on the 3-meter and 490.15 on the 1-meter to give him four conference event titles in his young career.
Berkenwald and his Emory diving teammates will gear up for the NCAA Diving Regionals in Atlanta at the end of the month on February 27 and 28 before turning focus to the NCAA Championships next month in Indianapolis.
