The Emory men's tennis team played their all-Emory singles slate at the ITA South Regional Sunday afternoon, with the doubles final set to take place on campus Wednesday.
In the first semifinal match, junior Ajay Kartik defeated sophomore Daniel Kim in a three-set 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 decision. The second semifinal match saw graduate transfer Mitchell Deames take down junior Joshua Lai 6-3, 6-2.
Kartik went on to win the ITA South Regional title over Deames as the junior delivered a 6-3, 6-4 result. This is Kartik's first regional singles title after winning the doubles title last season with teammate Matthew Johnstone.
