Six members of the Emory University women's golf team were chosen as Scholar All-Americans by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Monday morning.
Representing the Eagles were seniors
Ellen Dong and
Sharon Mun, sophomores
Derica Chiu and
Carys Code and freshmen
Zimo Li and
Covi Yan. To be selected as a Scholar All-American, a player must meet the following criteria: have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher; be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season; have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
The 2024-25 WGCA All-American Scholar Team saw a total of 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized.
This year, the group helped the Eagles to a UAA Championship title at the beginning of the fall season before taking the NCAA Championship title in May. Code became just the second player in program history to win the individual title at the NCAA Championships and earned All-America First Team honors with her finish. Dong, Mun and Li also joined her with First Team honors as well as All-Region honors.
This marks the fourth straight honor for Dong and Mun, the second selection for Chiu and Code and the first selection for Li and Yan.
