Four from Men's Tennis Selected to All-UAA Team

Four members of the Emory University men's tennis team were recognized Wednesday afternoon as the University Athletic Association unveiled its 2024-25 All-Association teams.

Freshman standout Ruilin Feng landed First Team honors for both singles and doubles and was joined on the First Team by his doubles partner sophomore Christian Liew. Graduate student Efe Comu garnered Second Team honors for his work in singles during his first season with the Eagles and was named honorable mention in doubles alongside freshman Ajay Kartik. Rounding out the honors were Liew and Kartik who added Honorable Mention honors for their singles play. For the full UAA release, please click here.

In his first season wearing Blue and Gold, Feng has provided an initial spark in the Emory lineup. Currently ranked No. 11 in singles and No. 9 in doubles nationally, Feng leads all Eagles with 17 singles wins and is 17-4 overall. During the spring, he carries a 14-3 mark as he has gone a perfect 8-0 on court two and 6-3 at the top spot.

He has been equally impressive in doubles while being paired with Liew as the duo has been a consistent force in the lineup. Together, they have posted a 21-6 overall record including a 14-4 record this spring and a 10-1 mark at the No. 2 spot. Earlier this season, the duo became the latest Emory doubles team to claim the ITA South Region title with their dominant run through the draw.

After earning All-UAA Second Team acclaim as a freshman, Liew draws honorable mention status in his second season with a 15-7 record and is 11-6 so far this spring. He's won this last four decisions including a pair of wins at the UAA Championships and was a straight set winner in Emory's third place win over NYU.

In his first season with the Eagles after transferring from Rollins, Comu collects Second Team honors in singles and honorable mention honors in doubles. As a member of the singles lineup, Comu ranks second on the team with 16 wins, going 16-11 overall, and is 9-7 in dual matches including a 4-1 mark at the No. 2 position. In the fall, Comu made a strong first impression for the Eagles as he ran through the singles draw to capture the ITA South Regional championship.

Comu and Kartik have paired together for the final four matches to end the regular season with the duo recording a 1-2 record including a win over WashU in the first round of UAA Championships. As Emory has worked to find its preferred doubles lineup, Comu has recorded a 9-12 record in doubles matches while playing alongside five different Eagles and Kartik is 10-13 overall with eight different combinations.

Kartik rounds out the Emory honors with honorable mention status in singles as he has bolstered the back end of the lineup. The rookie has shined during the spring with a 10-2 mark to improve his overall record to 11-3 and is a combined 9-2 at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the order.

The Eagles will look to make another deep run in the NCAA tournament as the postseason gets underway this weekend. Emory plays hosts to the opening rounds and will take on either Asbury or Averett in the second round on Saturday.
