Four from Men's Golf Land Spots on PING/GCAA All-Region Team

Four members of the Emory University men's golf program were recognized earlier this week as PING in coordination with the Golf Coaches Association of America announced the NCAA Division III All-Region honorees at the NCAA Championships awards banquet Sunday night in Penfield, New York.

Seniors Michael Burry, Tony Li, junior Brian Hanson and sophomore Kevin Mu were among the All-Region recipients on the All-Region IV team. For Li, this is his fourth straight All-Region selection while this is Burry's third consecutive choice on the All-Region roster. Hanson returns to the All-Region list after making it as a freshman and for Mu, this marks his first career selection as an All-Region honoree.

Burry put forth another standout campaign as he was one of the Eagles' top performers during the 2024-25 campaign. He was fourth on the squad with a 72.7 scoring average and posted a pair of top 10 finishes including a fourth place finish at the NCAA Fall Preview in September. Furthermore, Burry was tabbed to the UAA All-Tournament Team after winning two matches to help Emory clinch its 22nd conference title in team history.

Li has continued his consistent play for the Eagles to make yet another All-Region appearance. As a senior, Li notched a 72.6 scoring average while playing the second-most amount of rounds on the team. He's best finish came at the NCAA Fall Preview where he shot 210 across three rounds to finish seventh on the leaderboard including a season-low 68 during the second round. He added a win during match play in Emory's semifinal win over NYU during the UAA Championships in September.

Hanson has been at his absolute best during his junior season as he enters the NCAA Championships with a team-best 71.7 scoring average across a team-leading 22 rounds. He opened his season with an impressive performance at the NCAA Fall Preview with two rounds under 70, including a career-best 65, as he was the individual runner-up. Hanson registered five rounds under 70 during the season and tabbed as the UAA Championships tournament MVP following his dominating performance.

Mu has come on strong as of late after appearing in just one tournament during the fall. He turned in a top-10 showing at the Jekyll Island Collegiate with his three-round score of 213 before taking home the individual medalist honor with his career-setting 210 at the Discover Dekalb Invitational where he posted the second-lowest round in program history with his 64 during the second 18 holes. For the season, he his firing at a 72.3 clip – the second-lowest average on the team.

All four Eagles are currently playing at the NCAA Championships in Penfield, New York this week as they are looking to secure Emory's first-ever national championship.
