The Emory University track and field team sent athletes to the Lee University Last Chance meet in Cleveland, Tennessee with the runners highlighting the day.
Junior
Henry Brandstadter started things off taking fourth in the 100m prelims with a 10.69 before finishing fifth in the finals running a 10.62. Teammate
Sam Ryba also competed in the prelims taking 24
th with a time of 10.98.
Freshman
Ben Olvey also saw competition at the meet finishing seventh in the 110m hurdles running a 15.15. Teammate
Ethan Lu later competed in the 400m hurdles finishing eighth with a time of 54.53.
Finishing the events for the men was the relays with the 4x400m group of
Joshua Han, Ryan McGonigle, Jackson Price and
Dawit Dean taking home the trophy with a time of 3:13.85. Ryba, Brandstadter and Price later teamed up with senior
Caleb Bunch to finish second in the 4x100m relay with a finishing mark of 40.49.
For the women, senior
Kaya Binetti started the day with an eighth place qualifying finish in the 100m dash with a time of 12.30 but chose not to compete in the finals. She later took home a ninth place finish in the 200m running a 25.29 while fellow senior
Audrey Johnson ran a 25.16 to take eighth place.
Senior
Dashiel Tao Harris had one of her best runs this season in the 400m dash finishing fifth with a time of 55.96 while Binetti took 12
th with a 58.53. Finishing the individual running events was junior
Madison Tiaffay who finished second in the 1500m running a 4:30.15 and teammate
Luna McCauley who took eighth in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.14.
In the relays, the 4x400m group of
Amaya Grant, Jada Kenner, Hannah Riley and
Eva Carchidi also took home a first place finish in the event with a time of 3:45.54 followed by a third place finish in the 4x100m relay from Johnson, Carchidi, Harris and Kenner.
Grant also competed in the triple jump earning a first place finish in the event with a mark of 11.49m.
The Eagles will compete again at the Augustana College Final Qualifier before waiting to see who will make the NCAA Championships.
