The Emory University track and field team began competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin as six individuals and the 4x400m relay team took the track on day one.
In the team standings, Emory is in a tie for fifth place on the men's side with eight points while the women have not recorded any points on the women's side after day one.
Senior Henry Brandstadter put a capper on his legendary career as he opened the Championships for the Eagles in dominant fashion in the long jump. Brandstadter shattered his program record as he went for 7.74m to finish as the national runner-up in the field of 21 to earn First Team All-American honors once again in the final meet of his historic career as an Eagle. His mark moved him inside the top 10 all-time in Division III history in the event.
Elsewhere in the field events, sophomore Jeanette Hydukovich and freshman Jackie Chapman took part in the discus with Hydukovich placing 14th at 42.16m and Chapman taking 15th at 41.94m, and in the women's long jump, freshman Anna Jennings finished 18th at 5.36m.
On the track, junior Sebastian Kou was 11th in the prelims of the 400m Hurdles with a time of 53.36 and in the 3000m Steeplechase, junior Cameron Gupta placed 14th at 10:43.47.
In the final event of the night for the Eagles, the women's 4x400m relay team consisting of Amaya Grant, Jada Kenner, Aaliyah Jalloh and Hannah Riley was 13th out of 16 teams as they turned in a time of 3:47.80.
The Eagles will be back in action on Friday in four events starting with Ari Klasky in the shot put starting at 3:00 PM CT/4:00 PM ET.
