Three more podium finishes led the way for the Emory University women's swimming & diving team on day three of the NCAA Championships.
The Eagles used a trio of top eight showings to keep pace in the top half of the national standings as the Championships continued Friday in Greensboro. With the solid night of swims, the Eagles solidified their fifth place standing with 267 points at the end of the night. Through three days of competition, Emory will enter the final day of events in a tight battle for fourth as the Eagles trail Denison by 11 points. The NYU women continue to lead the field with 368 points followed by MIT (348) and Kenyon (315).
The night began with the group of graduate student Megan Jungers, sophomore Katie Cohen, freshman Allison Greeneway and senior Ava Kennedy teaming for an eighth finish in the 200 Medley Relay, one of two All-America First Team efforts in the relay disciplines for Emory. In the first event of the evening the group combined to post a time of 1:40.94.
The next event which saw a podium representative was in the 100 Breaststroke when Cohen took home a sixth place finish with a time of 1:02.65. It marked her first-ever individual top-8 finish at the NCAA Championships after taking 11th and 14th in the 200 and 100 Breaststrokes in 2024.
In the final event of the night, the Emory team of freshman Elodie Mitchell, sophomores Katherine Swan, Natalie Boorjian and graduate student Penelope Helm put up a solid mark of 7:18.93 to claim bronze in the 800 Freestyle Relay.
To go along with the First Team All-Americans, the Eagles saw three athletes earn Second Team All-America acclaim across two events.
Jungers was the consolation winner in the 100 Backstroke as she turned in a 54.71 during the evening session. Junior Penny Celtnieks added a 12th place showing in the consolation race, touching at 55.98 for her first individual All-America honor of the meet.
