The Emory University swimming teams concluded their three-day meet in Granville, Ohio Saturday evening with the final sessions of the Denison Invitational.
Going against swimmers from Denison University and DePauw University, the Eagles took first place on the women's side with 2,701 while the men finished second against the Big Red, tallying 2,473 points.
The final day of swims saw the Eagles record seven event wins and turn in 21 NCAA B Cuts during the finals session.
For the Emory women, senior Morgan Main earn the team's initial win of the evening with her performance in the 1,650 Freestyle, taking the win with a time of 16:54.29. Later during the session, freshman Emma Lunn led six Eagles with B Cuts in the top six with her leading time of 1:59.13, narrowly beating out sophomore Allison Greeneway (2nd, 1:59.46) and classmate Holly Brundage (3rd, 2:01.07).
Following a pair of second place efforts from sophomore Caitlin Crysel in the 100 Freestyle (51.10) and junior Katie Cohen in the 200 Fly (2:15.03), the Eagles ended the night with victories in the 200 Fly by sophomore Elodie Mitchell (2:00.58) and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Crysel, Sammi Thiele, Natalie Boorjian and Ava Kennedy (3:23.65).
In the men's events, senior Henri Bonnault claimed another win in the Breaststroke with his time of 1:57.19 in the 200 and in the 200 Backstroke, sophomore Zachary Spicer took the top spot at 1:46.20 as he beat out teammate Graham Zucker (1:47.59).
Junior McKee Thorsen was the Eagles' final winner of the evening with his first place showing in the 200 Fly, leading four Emory athletes in the top four positions with a time of 1:46.86.
Adding second place efforts was freshman Anthony Simmons Jr. in the 200 Fly (1:48.75) and sophomore Ben Pritchard in the mile at 15:37.88. The group consisting of Thorsen, Zucker, Hayden Tupper and Trenton Cassens added a second place effort as well with their combined time of 2:57.96.
Emory swimmers will take a brief break in the schedule to focus on finals and the holidays before returning to the pool on January 24th for their senior day meet against Centre.
