The Emory University track and field programs sent throwers to the Tiger Indoor Open hosted by Sewanee on Saturday afternoon in Mount Laurel, Tennessee.
Freshman
Ari Klasky continues to start his rookie season with a bang setting the program record in the shot put event with a distance of 15.06m. In the weight throw for the men, Klasky took home a 10
th place finish with a distance of 13.40m followed by a 13
th place finish from sophomore
Tyler Edwards (12.88m).
Senior
Sarah Fineman started the competition for the women taking a first place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.47m on her third throw. Freshman
Sarah Watson also competed in the event finishing 15
th with a distance of 9.44m.
Five women competed in the weight throw event with freshman
Abigail Roberts taking seventh place with a mark of 12.91m. Senior
Kylie Hanson finished 17
th (10.73m) followed by Watson (10.07m, 19
th), senior
Alexa Kondas (9.95m 20
th) and sophomore
Mable Mutumwa (9.68m, 21
st) all placing in the event.
The Eagles will travel to two meets next Friday, February 7 with athletes competing at the Camel City Invitational and the UAB Vulcan Invite & Green and Gold Invite.
