Emory University divers completed their weekend up north on Sunday as the Eagles took part in the final day of the MIT Invitational in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
After taking first place in the 1-meter event on Saturday, freshman
Solly Berkenwald followed that performance with another first place showing as he outscored divers from Tufts and MIT in the 3-meter. Berkenwald excelled across his 11-dives to score 557.70 to win the event by over 54 points.
During the women's 3-meter event, junior
Ren Watt shined for the Eagles as she placed third to lead the Emory group with 469.00 points. Freshman duo of
Maya Kriz and
Maddi Grant went back-to-back in the sixth and seventh spots with Kriz posting a score of 465.00 and Grant recording a mark of 453.20.
Another rookie
Jacqueline St. Clair was 11th as she totaled 437.40 across her 11 rounds and Saturday's standout, senior
Ariana Khan, finished 12th in the 17-diver field as she scored 432.85.
The Eagles will be idle for the next month for finals and the holiday break before returning to the pool on January 18th for their Senior Day meet against Berry College in Atlanta.Â
