Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Emory University sophomore Meghan Murphy (Columbia, SC) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Softball Co-Hitter of the Week following her performance over a four-game stretch.  It is the first time in her career that she has been selected for the honor.

Murphy helped the squad to a 4-0 at the Emory Invitational, leading the team in hitting with a .500 average, picking up five hits in 10 plate appearances. Included in her offensive totals were two runs scored, a team-high eight RBIs and a .700 slugging percentage.

In a five-inning, 10-1 decision over Rochester, Murphy went 3-for-3, crossed the plate twice and knocked in a pair of runs, including the deciding score. The following day, she keyed a 7-4 triumph over Emory and Henry with two safeties in five at-bats along with 5 RBIs.

Murphy shares this week's award with Piper Johnson of Carnegie Mellon.

So far this year, Murphy is second on the squad and 12th in the UAA in hitting with a .429 mark (12-of-28) and has registered a team-leading 10 RBIs.

Emory, 7-3 on the season, returns to action on Tuesday, Mar. 19, when it hosts Piedmont College in a doubleheader starting at 2:30 pm.
