Against the Cougars of Averett, Emory fell behind by a 3-0 margin after two frames but tied things up in its half of the third with junior Micah Scharff and senior Ally Kersthold delivering run-producing doubles. Scharff singled in her second of three runs in that inning while Kersthold picked up a RBI on a bases-loaded walk. Freshman Sydney Cohen highlighted that explosion with a pinch-hit single that scored two runners. Senior Amanda Kardys picked up the win, tossing four innings while freshman Brittany File earned the save following two innings of scoreless relief.

Megan Light going 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored. The sophomore trio of
Hannah Sendel,
Alyssa Pollard and Carter all hit safely twice with Sendel adding two RBIs. The game was deadlocked at 3-3 before Emory pushed across four runs in the fifth with Light singling in the first score and freshman
Taylor Forte the last run in the frame with a triple that knocked in Pollard. Light doubled in one of Emory's three runs in the sixth with Carter adding a run-producing triple. Kardys pocketed the win in relief, blanking the Scots over 5 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits and fanning four.
