Box Score After 89 minutes of scoreless play, a goal in the 90th minute by Maryville College lifted the Scots to a 1-0 win over the Emory University men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
With just 25 seconds left to play in regulation, Maryville's Travis Bolton struck with the game-winning goal, off an assist from Brian Beckham.
Emory outshot Maryville 16-6 in the contest, including an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 10-3 shot advantage in the first half of play.
Junior Andrew Natalino led all Emory players with four shots, while sophomore Andrew Jones registered three shots, all of which were on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Goldblum made one save in the loss, playing all 90 minutes. He fell to 2-1-0 on the season with the defeat.
The Eagles dropped to 8-7-0 on the campaign with the loss, ending a two-game winning streak. Maryville improved to 10-3-2 on the season with the win.
Emory will begin a season-ending three-game home stand on Friday, October 28th at 5:00 PM against University Athletic Association (UAA) opponent Brandeis University.
