The Emory University baseball team dropped its second straight
game to North Carolina Wesleyan, falling 11-3 to the Battling
Bishops on Sunday afternoon.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning off a Patrick
Riebsame single, the Eagles would allow 11 unanswered runs
six of which were unearned.
Emory would get two back in the top of the seventh inning on a
Mark Lindemann groundout and an RBI double for
Robbie Wodarczyk, but that would be as close as
the Eagles would get the rest of the way. Senior Mark
Terranova would add on the Eagles' only other extra-base
hit during the game, a triple in the eighth inning.
One of the bright spots for the Eagles in the contest was the
effort of freshman pitcher Caleb Long, who struck
out four over two hitless innings in his Emory debut.
The Eagles, now 1-4 this season, will return home to host
Washington and Lee College at 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
